What is "Hotness"?

"Hotness" is a measure of your interest in, or excitement about, a particular Person or Place.

Hotness is expressed as a percentage, where 100% is complete and total interest, and 0% is no particular interest at all. Hotness can go below zero, where -100% is complete and total coldness or repulsion.

There are two kinds of hotness, "Basic Hotness" which you set, and "Current Hotness" which is calculated by Myallo HotList.

Basic Hotness

"Basic Hotness" expresses your stand-alone interest in a Person or Place, and you set it yourself on the Person Screen or Place Screen.

Current Hotness

"Current Hotness" is calculated by Myallo HotList. The calculation starts with the Basic Hotness and moves up or down from there, based on proximity to other People and Places, and their Relevance to Things. While Basic Hotness only changes if you adjust it yourself, Current Hotness changes automatically as Myallo HotList senses changes in Basic Hotness, locations, interest, or relevances in other People, Places and Things.

How it Works

For example, a newly added Person starts at 0% Basic and Current Hotness. If another Person whose Current Hotness is 50% comes near, their Basic Hotness remains at 0% but Current Hotness will start to rise. If those two People travel together to a Place that is hot, the Current Hotness of both People will rise further. The Currnet Hotness of that Place will rise a little as well, since there are now two hot People near it.

If instead, those two People went to a Place whose Current Hotness is negative, their hotness would fall. However, the Place itself would get a little hotter, as two hot People are now near it.

As another example, suppose you have your Basic anf Current Hotness set to 50%. And suppose you have listed a Thing named "Pizza" with a high Interest. That means that "Pizza" is relevant to you. Now if you approach a Place named "Joe's Pizza" whose Current Hotness is 0% your Current Hotness will rise, because the name matches a Thing that is Relevant. And of course Joe's Pizza's Current Hotness will rise a bit as well since you are hot and are now nearby.

In this way, the Current Hotness of People and Places rise and fall as they Interact with each other.
